The data in this sampling event resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The list consists of members of the phylum Tracheophyta belonging to two classes Liliopsida and Magnoliopsida. All mebers of the two classes were further identified to Order, Family, Genus and then to species level.

The African Biodiversity Challenge is a competition coordinated by the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) and funded by the JRS Biodiversity Foundation. The competition follows on from a previous JRS-funded project, “Mobilising Policy and Decision-making Relevant Biodiversity Data”, which culminated in the Africa Rising conference in 2015, and supports on-going efforts to further enhance the Biodiversity Information Management activities of the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) Africa network.

取樣方法

A 25m was laid to measure the size of a quadrat of 10x10m. Elevation and cordinates were recorded at the center of each quadrat in order to have average readings for the entire quadrat. The same string was used to measure a distance of 100m between quadrats(interval). Species observations were made in 6 quadrats.

1. Repeatability can be done by tracing quadrat 1 with a hand held GPS and trace the remainder of the quadrats using track point while maintaining a 100m distance between quadrats
