The purpose of this resource is to summarize the ornithological observations which were made on Zomba mountain between 28th November 1974 and 6th August 1975. However, this was not a comprehensive study and could not reflect an all inclusive avifauna of Zomba mountain.

Zomba Mountain forest if a composition of montane evergreen forest, riparian evergreen forest,bracken briar, montane grassland, miombo woodland, cliffs, water and exotic tree plantation. |

- The data was collected through observation using naked eye, binocular and recognition of bird sounds at 4000m above sea level on most of Zomba Mountain Forest Reserve. With the exceptions of Domasi Valley and lower slopes near Zomba Town.
